Is there any Financial Support available?
Financial help is available for people enrolling onto DTLLS courses, which is classed as Initial Teacher Training (ITT). Further information can be found on the Directgov website. Visit www.direct.gov.uk and enter Initial Teacher Training into the search area OR follow this link Initial Teacher Training: what financial help can you get. Learners registering for the DTLLS in 2009/2010 can apply for the non means tested maintenance grant, and use that to support payment for their training. Anyone looking for funding to support a SfL Subject Specialism will be able to access this grant only if it is part of a combined, additional or integrated DTLLS and is not a stand alone Additional DTLLS, (see Understand the Course Terminology for definitions). Learners are also eligible to apply for a student loan.
